Winning Ways
After a 12-9 loss at Oriskany on
Wednesday, the Lady Emerald
Knights softball team got back
on track Thursday, beating
Morrisville-Eaton 11-4 at home.

Sam Martin struck out three
and walked only two, while
scattering eight hits to get the
win.

Martin helped herself at the
plate with a tow-run double

That was one of only six hits for
Hamilton, which improved its
season record to 8-2 overall at
2-2 in league play.

Jenna Whyatt had a two-run
single.

Mallory Carhart scored four
times.

Hamilton also capitalized on 13
walks.

Coach Bill Dowsland had a new
look to his lineup, missing two
starters, Liz Unger and Calyn
Fisher to injury and illness.

He brought up eighth grader
Katie Weeks from the JV to
play second. Jordan Peterson
moved to shortstop and Kylie
Martin started at third.

Fans can expect to see that
lineup again Friday as Hamilton
hosts Richfield Springs at 4:30
p.m.
