Now Ranked Sixth in State,
Lady Knights Win Again Fri.
All the pieces of the puzzle were in place for Coach Bill
Dowsland and the Lady Emerald Knights at home Friday
afternoon. As a result, the sixth rank team in Class D in
the state coasted to a 19-0 win over Richfield Springs as a
cold rain fell.

1.  The Lady Emeralds turned in one of their better hitting
performances of the year.

2. Pitcher Samantha Martin pitched shutout ball, scattering
five hits, walking only one and stroking out a career-high
seven.

3. And, in the field, Hamilton was hot on a cold afternoon,
making only one error.

"We just made plays," said Dowsland after the game. "I've
very pleased with how we played."

Hamilton's hit parade was long and deep Friday. Here's
how it went:

+ Mallory Carhart was three for three including two
triples and a homerun. She also scored four times.

+ Nicole Beers was three for five including a pair of
triples. She scored twice.

+ Kylie Martin was four for four and crossed the plate
four times.

+ Sara Whyatt was two for five and scored twice.

+ and Martin had only one hit in four trips to the plate,
but that was a three-run home run.

Hamilton is now 9-2 and 3-2 in the league.
