Colgate wide receiver and local fan favorite Pat Simonds was cut late last week by the Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL. Last year for Colgate Simonds caught 66 passes for 1,012 yards and 14 touchdowns. Simonds graduated from Sidney High School.

The HCS girls basketball team continued its romp through the post-season, beating number one seed New York Mills 40-30 Saturday at the Utica Aud to win the Section III Class D title.
