The Fourth of July Planning Committee today announced that Community Memorial Hospital President and CEO Dave Felton will be the grand marshal of this year's parade. The theme of the parade parade is “Red,White, and Blue.” It is scheduled to start from Wings Way at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday July 4, and will arrive at the center of the village at 11 a.m..

Benjamin Parks, a Hamilton resident and senior at Manlius Pebble Hill School in DeWitt, won a corporate-sponsored National Merit Scholarship award. He is one of about 1,000 high school seniors across the country who have won these awards financed by businesses. Parks won the National Merit Lockheed Martin Academic Scholarship.

Troopers Arrest Man for DWI

Morrisville State Police arrested Keenhan Sternburg, 33, of Eaton, for DWI following a traffic stop on Airport Rd, in the Town of Madison last Tuesday evening. He was processed at SP Morrisville where a breath test of .13 percent blood alcohol content was obtained. He was charged with DWI, failure to stop at a stop sign, failed to signal and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle in the third degree. He was released on tickets to appear in the Town of Madison Court at 7 p.m. Monday.

No cause was given on the utility's website. NYSEG has revised its expectation when power is expected to be back on; now it is by 2:30 this afternoon.

Cows Electrocuted by Falling Wire

State Police today confirmed that 10 cows on a Hubbardsville farm were electrocuted Friday morning when someone trimming trees brought down an electrical line. Details remain incomplete, but a Trooper verified the incident occurred yesterday at 9:42 a.m. at 1897 Excell Road. Troopers were called to the scene to direct traffic. Electricity to the area was out until late afternoon. Check back for details.
