The Oneida-Madison-Herkimer BOCES will host a Spring Open House and College Fair on March 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Career and Technical Education centers at the New Hartford and the Verona campuses. Students, parents and others will also have an opportunity to meet with representatives from local and regional two- and four-year colleges and also see programs offered by BOCES.

The mild winter left HCS wit ha surplus of snow days, so officials decided to give students May 24 and 25 off. This extends the Memorial Day break to four days. Most CNY schools have done the same thing.

There will be various farm animals set up in the front lawn of the school from 9 a.m. to -1p.m. Students will be able to interact with and learn about these animals, as well as participate in a mini tractor pull. Three students out of 30 who performed received perfect scores on the most difficult level of music: Dana Bowers on voice, Izzy Herold on viola, and Keslie Nolen on tenor sax playing a duet with Sherburne-Earlville student Chris Weinell on alto sax.

HCS Secondary Principal Tom Lutsic this morning confirmed that the appearance by the band Lovesick Radio and the "Invade Your Prom" event by KISS-FM have not been canceled. The very active rumor mill has suggested the entertainment was canceled. That is not true. Lutsic said he had no idea how the rumor got started.
