Earlville Museum Opens with Historian

The Quincy Square Museum in Earlville will hold its first presentation of the season Saturday May 5 at 1 p.m. when, Matthew Urtz, Madison County Historian, will discuss famous county residents past and present. The museum will be open at 12:30 p.m. with Urtz’s talk starting at 1 p.m.. Refreshments and the opportunity to speak with the presenter will be available at the conclusion of this program.

Bookstore Hosts Superhero Event

The Colgate Bookstore willl help children create their own secret identities on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. Children will hear funny stories about superheroes and sidekicks, make a superhero mask, wristband and emblem. The program is free and open to all children, but intended for ages 4-10. Parents are asked to register their children in advance at 228-6944.

Alphabets Go Awry at Bookstore

The Colgate Bookstore will host a letter-themed children’s program on Saturday at 10 a.m. Silly stories of alphabets gone awry will be read by bookstore staff, followed by a confetti letter craft and a snack. Mural Dedication Set

Purchased with funds raised by the Friends of the Mural and the community, the mural depicting the early days of Hamilton by artist Lee Brown Coye now officially belongs to the Village of Hamilton. The historic mural that hangs in the post office will be dedicated to the memory of Jon Leslie Cheshire at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23. Weather permitting, the dedication will be followed by a reception in the gazebo at the Village Green.
