Colgate Bookstore hosts silly mom-themed children's program on May 8.

Meet the Meanest Mother on Earth

The Colgate Bookstore will get ready for Mother’s Day during a children’s program on Saturday, May 8 at 11 a.m.  Bookstore staff will share three tales of children who believe they have really bad moms.  Story-time will be followed by a handprint bouquet craft and a snack.  The program is free and open to children of all ages, but is mainly geared towards ages 3-7.

The featured stories will include:

Little Rabbit and the Meanest Mother on Earth by Kate Klise.  Little Rabbit may not go to the circus until he cleans his room, says his mother.
So there's only one thing to do: Join the circus and sell one hundred tickets to see the Meanest Mother on Earth!

Llama Llama, Mad at Mama by Anna Dewdney.  All is not well at the Shop-o-Rama when Mama Llama takes Little Llama on a very long shopping trip.

My Mom is Trying to Ruin My Life by Kate Feiffer.  A young girl imagines a scheme to escape the mother who is trying to ruin her life.  Mom’s crimes: doing such terrible, embarrassing things as kissing her daughter in public and banning junk food.

Copies of this program’s featured titles will be offered at 20% off to anyone who comes to this event.
