Haggis Enters EOH June 4

The Earlville Opera House welcomes Enter the Haggis with their innovative Celtic rock at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 4.

Enter the Haggis combines the traditional sounds of the highland bagpipe and fiddle with a rhythm section and inventive songwriting to create a hybrid of old and new Celtic.

The band is known for their inventive songwriting with material coming from guitarist Trevor Levington and fiddle player Brian Buchanan.  Piper Craig Downie has also contributed original material for the band.

The group’s recent album, ‘Gutter Anthems,’ showcases the band’s unique style and has received hot reviews. Calvin Daniels reviewing for Canada's Yorkton This Week wrote: “What Enter the Haggis does though is update the [Celtic] sound just enough that it fits the modern era, and broadens the fan base. Listen to the intro to DNA and you hear how they blend the modern with the heritage of Celtic music.  That is the strength of Enter the Haggis, the ability to bring the past so vividly into focus in terms of soft rock, yet maintaining the storytelling heart of Celtic music.”

General admission is $18 and $16 for EOH members and students are discounted to $13.  Premium seating in the first four rows is an added $5.
