  1. absentee votes now counted

The Board of Elections counted absentees today. You can see what should be the final numbers at the Madison County Board of Elections site. When you get to the list of races, click on "D" to see the count by election districts. It is important to distinguish between Election Districts #1 and #2, on the one hand, and the Village, on the other. The village had only 986 registered voters in June. ED #1 in May had 556 registered voters; ED#2 had 761. Those numbers have changed slightly by now, but it remains the case that the two districts combined have about 330 more registered voters than the Village of Hamilton. ED #4 continues to be the largest district.
