Tue, May 04, 2010

Oriskany gets off to a fast start; wins 10-5.

HCS pitcher Don Philhower had his first rough outing of the year Monday at Oriskany and the Emerald Knights lost 10-5.

Oriskany came out swining and posted nine of their 10 runs in the first three innings. Then, with the help of junior lefty Kinnon Nolan-Finke, the Oriskany bats cooled off.

Philhower was tagged for those nine runs, seven of which were earned. He also gave up 11 hits. It was his first loss of the season.

Nolan-Finkle came on in with one out in the third and finished up the game for HCS. He surrendered one earned run and just one hit. He struck out three and walked six.

Nolan-Finkle also had the hot bat for Hamilton. He had three singles.

Hamilton is now 6-3 overall and 4-2 in the league.
