Hamilton Public Library appreciates its library users and is honoring them this week, April 5 through 10. There are homemade goodies every day and an outstanding art exhibit of local talent to admire. Take a minute and watch a continuously running slide show of library events from the past year.

Our Mona Lisa book bags are available at discount rates this week and there are new additions to our collection of locally crafted earrings to purchase. Stop by and check out the collection of gently used books and videos that are for sale, too.

Consider signing up for email notification of requested items and a courtesy email three days prior to due dates for borrowed materials. Inquire about the free downloadable audio books available from the Mid York Library System web site.

If you are a volunteer in any capacity at the library, stop by for our Volunteer Reception on Friday, April 9, at 4 pm. You will have a chance to meet and visit with fellow volunteers at that time.

Remember the Thomas Stradling & Sons Clothing and Footwear Store on Lebanon Street? There is a new exhibit featuring artifacts and news clippings about this store in the museum area just off the adult reading area.

Although it's still early, our Butterfly Garden already has its brightly painted bench in place and early spring flowers popping up. Come and enjoy the scenery in the garden's first springtime.

Elementary school age writers and illustrators only have until April 16at 8 pm to turn in their creative stories. Information sheets and Entry forms for the Chenango Valley Scribes: Young Writers & Illustrators Contest are available at the Colgate Bookstore and the Library.

The library is open Monday-Friday, 11 am - 8 pm, and Saturday, 10 am - 1 pm. Please call the library, 824-3060, for assistance during these hours. The book drop at the Broad Street entrance is always open for your convenience.
